The most notable works among Conrad’s early novels are hisLingard Trilogy- three of his early novels which are based on the recurring presence of the Captain Tom Lingard, the protagonist, and therelationship between Westerners and non-Westerners in a contact zone where both cultures meet. A postcolonial study of these novels can reveal Conrad’s attempt to change the binary logic of his time which put the West in a position of power. Postcolonial elements in this trilogy can be studied by using Homi Bhabha’s theories of stereotype, ambivalence, mimicry, hybridity, and othering to substantiate our claim that in Lingard Trilogy, Conrad’s discourse was anti-racist and against the imperial logic of the nineteenth century, since he tried to change it in the Trilogy. آثار تحسین ­شدۀ کنراد از دورۀ میانۀ او به­ طور کامل از چندین منظر،از جمله منظر پسا­استعماری، مورد مطالعه قرار­­­­­ گرفته است، در حالی که رمان­های دورۀ اولیۀ او به دلیل خصوصیت به­ اصطلاح «نامتوازن­شان» به نوعی مورد غفلت واقع شده­اند.برجسته ­ترین آثار در میان رمان­های اولیۀ کنراد سه گانۀ لینگارداست، سه رمان اولیۀ او که بر اساس تکرار شخصیت کاپیتان تام لینگاردو رابطه ­اش میان غربی­ها و شرقی­ها در یک منطقۀ تماس می ­باشند که در‌آن هر دو فرهنگ با یکدیگر برخورد می­ کنند. مطالعۀ پسا­استعماری این رمان­ها می ­تواند تلاش کنراد را در تغییر منطق امپریالیستی دوگانۀ زمان خود آشکار کند که غرب را در موقعیت قدرت قرار می­ داد. عناصر پسا­استعماری در این سه ­گانه را می­ توان با استفاده از نظریه­ های هومی بابا مانند نظریه ­های کلیشه، تردید، تقلید، و ناجوری مطالعه کرد تا این ادعا را به اثبات برسانیم که در سه­ گانۀ لینگارد سخن کنراد ضد نژادپرستانه و در تضاد با منطق امپریالیستی قرن نوزدهم است، چرا که سعی وی بر آن است تا این مسایل را در سه گانۀ مذکور به چالش بکشد. https://jalda.azaruniv.ac.ir/article_14051_9005517ab8e272ed16baf29d6167916c.pdf
