Given the prominent position of canon and bestseller novels in English literary polysystem, the study intends to find out whether the translators of canon and bestseller novels are faithful to theirsource texts, and whether the translators of peripheral novels tend to adopt target language norms and translate much more freely than the translators of canon and bestsellers novels. To this end, based on a descriptive-comparative method, nine English novels comprising three canons, three bestsellers, and three peripherals were selected and compared with their Persian translations using Berman’s (1985) deforming tendencies. The comparison showed that the position of literary works in English literary polysystem does not have a considerable role in the Iranian translators’ translational behavior at the textual level, and the translators attempt to produce a target language-oriented translation to suit the needs of target readers.    ه <br />هدف از مطالعه‌ی حاضر بررسی تاثیر جایگاه آثار ادبی در نظام چندگانه‌ی ادبی انگلیسی برعملکرد مترجمان ایرانی در سطح متن است. به عبارت دیگر، تحقیق حاضر در صدد است تا دریابد که آیا مترجمانی که آثار برجسته و پرفروش غربی را به فارسی ترجمه می‌کنند، به واسطه جایگاه ممتاز این آثار در نظام ادبی انگلیسی،به متن اصلی وفادارترند؟و آیا مترجمانی که آثار پیرامونی غربی را ترجمه می‌کنند به واسطه جایگاه حاشیه‌ای این متون در ترجمه آزادی عمل بیشتری از خود نشان می‌دهند و بیشتر مخاطب مقصد را در نظر می‌گیرند؟ بدین منظور، در این پژوهش توصیفی-تحلیلی، نه رمان انگلیسی، شامل سه رمان برجسته، سه رمان پرفروش، و سه رمان پیرامونی، همراه با ترجمه‌ی فارسی آن‌ها بر اساس نظریه‌ی گرایش‌های ریخت‌شکنانه‌ی آنتونی برمن (1985) بررسی شد.نتایج حاصل از مقایسه‌ی متن‌های انگلیسی و ترجمه‌ی فارسی نشان داد که جایگاه متن اصلی تاثیر چشمگیری در عملکرد مترجمان در سطح متن نداشته است و مترجمان بیشتر خواننده‌ی مقصد را در نظر گرفته‌اند تا برحسب نیازهای مخاطب عمل کنند. https://jalda.azaruniv.ac.ir/article_14098_a2235eeb6e65d226b62e261708a8dcdb.pdf
