چکیده

پژوهش حاضر به بررسی نقش وجهیت در ایجاد سایه‌گذاری در رمان «همه نورهایی که ما نمی‌بینیم» (۲۰۱۴) اثر آنتونی دُر می‌پردازد و در این راستا از چارچوب سبک‌شناختی سیمپسون (۲۰۰۴) بهره می‌برد. در این مطالعه، سایه‌گذاری به معنای جهت‌گیری لحنی روایی (چه مثبت، چه منفی و یا خنثی) است که از طریق الگوهای زبانیِ خاص، به ویژه افعال وجهی، بیان می‌شود. اگرچه پژوهش‌های پیشین به بررسی سایه‌گذاری در آثار کلاسیک و داستان‌های کوتاه پرداخته‌اند، اما مطالعه نظام‌مند این مفهوم در رمان‌های معاصر مغفول مانده است. برای پر کردن این خلأ، مطالعه حاضر روشی را به کار می‌بندد که زبان‌شناسی پیکره‌ای را با تحلیل سبک‌شناختی دقیق ترکیب می‌کند. مجموعه داده‌ای شامل ۱,۳۷۸ مورد از افعال وجهی اصلی (can, could, will, would, should, may, might must  ) و همچنین فعل واژگانی  think از متن کامل رمان استخراج شد. هر یک از موارد بر اساس نوع وجهیت (معرفتی، تکلیفی، آرزویی و ادراکی) طبقه‌بندی و با دسته‌بندی‌های سایه‌گذاری مرتبط شدند. یافته‌های کمی نشان‌دهنده قطبیت آشکاری بود: ۶۷.۷ درصد از موارد به سایه‌گذاری منفی (عمدتاً معرفتی و ادراکی) و ۳۲.۳ درصد به سایه‌گذاری مثبت (تکلیفی و آرزویی) اختصاص داشتند. موارد سایه‌گذاری خنثی ناچیز بودند. آزمون کای-اسکوئر همبستگی معناداری بین نوع وجهیت و سایه‌گذاری را تأیید کرد (χ² (2, N = 1,378) = 724.51, p < .001 ). علاوه بر این، تحلیل کیفی نشان داد که افعال وجهی معرفتی و ادراکی فضایی از عدم قطعیت و تردید را ایجاد می‌کنند، در حالی که افعال تکلیفی و آرزویی بر مفاهیم مسئولیت، تاب‌آوری و امید تأکید می‌ورزند. این یافته‌ها نه تنها دامنه مدل سیمپسون را به ادبیات قرن بیست و یکم گسترش می‌دهند، بلکه کاربرد تحلیل سایه‌گذاری مبتنی بر وجهیت را در محیط‌های آموزشی برای ارتقای مهارت‌های تفسیری و خواندن انتقادی دانش‌آموزان به نمایش می‌گذارند.
